Final Reflection

Throughout this class, I have learned the importance of perseverance and really listening to feedback. There were times where I wanted to give up on my idea and create a new concept because I thought it would be too costly or that I would have to deal with too many outer parties to get my parking app going. Despite this feeling of occasional doubt, I still continued to go with my idea and realized that the feedback I received helped reassure me. The little changes that I made throughout this process had helped me to better improve my idea and make it more efficient.

The most formative experience was being able to talk to employees that worked in the industry and gave me some feedback on it. I networked with a lot of beneficial people that could potentially help me start and grow my business to the point where I will be knowledgeable enough myself to take my concept elsewhere. I think this was an experience that I felt most proud of because I had to deal with people that were currently working in the industry and I had little to no idea what to expect. I was going into it blindly but I knew that I had to talk to these people in order to get the most information and make the best out of my experience.

I think I do see myself as having more of an entrepreneurial mindset as I know what possible steps to take to get the ball rolling and the certain qualities I need to obtain. It taught me the importance of bouncing back from times of adversity and to not lose sight of the goal that I am trying to accomplish.

One recommendation I would give to students that are going to be launching through this journey is to come with an open mindset and to not worry about having the “perfect” idea from the start as they will experience moments of failure and change throughout the process. Not everything is going to be set in stone but that is okay. I would also recommend that they watch or attend lectures as it is an interesting class and it would benefit them a lot on the cupcake quizzes.

  1. Hi Ilana, I thought that my concept grew a lot throughout this course and I am much more sure of what I want to do now. It is so awesome that you already have contacts for the future, even you don't pursue this business having those connections is helpful. Having an open mindset is the best way to approach this course, I completely agree with you on that.
